Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, meet our team and drive towards Sonamarg, the base for the trek. The scenic drive through valleys, rivers, and meadows sets the mood for the adventure ahead. After reaching Sonamarg, check into camps or a guesthouse, followed by a trek briefing. Dinner and overnight stay at the base camp.
The trek starts with a gradual ascent through lush meadows and pine forests. Crossing the Sindh River, we trek towards Nichnai Pass, offering panoramic views of snow-clad mountains. Set up camp at Nichnai Valley, known for its wildflowers and serene streams. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Begin the day with a climb over Nichnai Pass (4,080m), followed by a descent into a beautiful valley leading to Vishansar Lake. The lake, surrounded by towering peaks, reflects stunning hues of blue and green. Explore the area, spot marmots, and enjoy photography before settling into the campsite.
After an early breakfast, trek towards Krishansar Lake, another gem of the Himalayas. Ascend to Gadsar Pass (4,200m), the highest point of the trek, offering breathtaking views of multiple lakes. Descend into Gadsar Valley, home to the stunning Gadsar Lake, known as the Valley of Flowers of Kashmir. Camp overnight by the lake.
Today's trek takes you through rugged landscapes and rocky terrain leading to the Satsar Lakes, a collection of seven interconnected lakes. Spend time exploring the area, enjoying tranquil surroundings and reflections of the Himalayas. Camp overnight at Satsar Valley.
Crossing boulder-filled terrain, we trek towards the majestic Gangbal and Nundkol Lakes, nestled at the foot of Mount Harmukh (5,142m). These twin lakes are sacred to locals and are home to trout fish. Spend the day exploring and relaxing by the lakeside. Camp overnight.
The final trek descends through pine forests leading to Naranag, where our vehicles await to drive you back to Srinagar. Upon arrival, check into a houseboat/hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar Airport with unforgettable memories of the Great Lakes Trek.
